Right, I’m confident you’re bored with Lockdown, you’ve watched all the box sets, you may have even done all the ironing so I thought you might like a change.
Tonight ( Tues 5th May 7pm) I am doing a talk and Q and A on my book ‘Lily’s War’ and the good news is, you can join me for free.
This is what it’s all about:
1942- when loo rolls were the least of their problems….
Wirksworth author, SHIRLEY MANN will be doing an online talk and Q + A for the No 28 Belper Fringe At Home programme. Her novel, ‘LILY’S WAR’ is based on her parents’ wartime romance and she will be talking about the challenges of writing her first novel in her 60s, how she had to track down 90 year old WAAFs to tell her the gems that aren’t found in history books and how the unsung heroines left her feeling guilty for complaining about a lack of loo rolls.
Register on https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/q-and-a-with-shirley-mann-registration-104208945762 to see Shirley’s Zoom talk and join in the Q + A, chaired by Carol Taylor.
If you really are a glutton for punishment, then I’m reading from ‘Lily’s War’ at 8.30pm on Friday, which is appropriately, the commemoration of VE Day and you can hear that by tuning into http://belperfringe.org/event.php?id=210
So that’s it, I’ll shut up for now but please do try to join me tonight, it would be so lovely to have you there.
